Safety Precautions
The UFO Power Center is a safe product, made according to U.S. and Canadian safety standards with non-flammable materials, but like everything connected to the power line, it requires some precautions to prevent any potential electrical shocks. Please read the following safety precautions carefully before using the product.
- The UFO Power Center is designed for indoor use in dry areas only. Never use it in wet areas or outdoors at any time as liquids conduct electricity and pose a serious hazard.
- If, for any reason, the housing is broken or it shows any openings, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet as the product cannot be used in these conditions. Contact us if the product is under warranty.
- Only connect the UFO directly to a wall socket, not to another power strip, and do not exceed 15 Amps maximum total load.
- Do not power appliances drawing current higher than 11 Amp of current, or power higher than 1,210 Watts for more than two hours at a time. The UFO may overheat if used for an extensive amount of time at that amount of current.
- Never open the top or bottom cover of the unit or try to open the housing. There are no serviceable parts inside and opening the housing exposes parts with electrical power at 110 Volts that may result in electrical shock if touched.
- The UFO has a thermal switch to protect it from unexpected overloads. If the switch trips, disconnect the UFO plug from the wall socket and use a non-metal object through the opening in the bottom to reset the switch. Identify and remove the cause of the overload to prevent this from happening again.
- Do not power life support devices with the UFO. A schedule or other feature may accidentally turn off a life support device and it is an hazard.
- Always use the finger grip on the plug to remove it from the wall socket. Never remove the plug by pulling the electrical cord.
